About Us
HandymanDean is a sole trader business providing handyman and property maintenance services to domestic and commercial customers across the local area. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all work carried out by HandymanDean. By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Services Provided
We offer a range of property maintenance and improvement services, including but not limited to:
- General handyman tasks and odd jobs
- Flat-pack furniture assembly
- Decorating and painting
- Basic electrical work (non-notifiable)
- Basic plumbing
- Garden maintenance
- Shed building and installation
Please note: electrical and plumbing work is limited to minor, non-notifiable tasks. We will advise you if a job requires a specialist or certified tradesperson.

Quotes & Pricing
Work may be charged on either an hourly rate or a fixed-price basis, depending on the nature of the job. We will agree the pricing method with you before any work begins.
- Hourly rate: Charged in full or half hours. We will provide an estimated duration before starting.
- Fixed quote: A written or verbal quote will be provided. Any additional work agreed during a job that falls outside the original scope may be charged separately.
Quotes are valid for 30 days. We reserve the right to revise a quote if the scope of work changes or if access issues arise once work has commenced.

Payment
Payment is due in full upon completion of work. We do not require a deposit.
We accept the following payment methods:
- Cash
- Bank transfer (BACS)
- Card payments
Invoices issued after completion are payable within 7 days unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payments may incur a statutory interest charge in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule a booking.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a call-out fee to cover travel and time allocation.
- We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances and will notify you as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities
To help us carry out work safely and efficiently, you agree to:
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to the property and work area at the agreed time.
- Inform us of any known hazards, including asbestos, hidden services, or structural concerns.
- Ensure that any permissions required (such as landlord consent) are in place before work begins.
- Ensure a responsible adult (aged 18 or over) is present at the property during the work.

Materials & Supplies
Where materials are required, we can either supply them (charged at cost plus a reasonable handling fee) or work with materials provided by you. We will confirm the arrangement before starting. We are not responsible for any defects arising from materials supplied by the customer.

Public Liability Insurance
HandymanDean holds Public Liability Insurance. Details of our cover are available on request. While we take every care during our work, you are advised to ensure your own home or contents insurance is appropriate for the work being carried out.

Limitation of Liability
We will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. However, our liability to you is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for:
- Any pre-existing defects or damage not caused by us.
- Indirect or consequential losses (such as loss of earnings or alternative accommodation costs).
- Damage resulting from inaccurate information provided by you.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us as soon as possible. We are committed to resolving any issues fairly and promptly. You must give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, if appropriate, rectify any concerns before engaging a third party to carry out remedial work.
